Swimming Ponds and Natural Pools in Todd Place
We build Recreational Ponds used for swimming
What is a Swim Pond?
California Waterscapes designs and builds custom swimming ponds and natural pools in Todd Place, bringing the look and feel of a natural water feature to your backyard. These recreation ponds are more than just places to swim, they’re designed to look like small lakes or streams, blending seamlessly into the rural landscape. Each pond is made to fit your property and lifestyle with natural beauty and functionality in mind.
Optional Upgrades For Swim Ponds
Add value and comfort to your pond with optional upgrades including:
- UV filtration for consistently clear and clean water
- Deeper zones designed for swimming
- Stone steps or a gradual beach entry
- Flagstone bottom for a smooth and attractive finish
- External pumps to boost water flow and simplify maintenance
How Are Swim Ponds Filtered?
Our approach uses a two part natural filtration process that keeps the water clean without harmful chemicals.
A mechanical skimmer collects leaves, dust, and debris from the surface.
A biological filter breaks down waste using beneficial bacteria. For larger projects, we also include a wetland filter that works like a natural marsh using gravel and aquatic plants to keep water healthy and balanced.
How much do Swim Ponds Cost?
In Todd Place, most swimming ponds and natural pools cost between $50,000 and $200,000. Ponds with larger footprints, added landscaping, or more complex filtration can exceed $250,000 based on the custom design.
Are Swim Ponds Less Expensive Than Traditional Pools?
Yes. Swim ponds are typically more affordable per square foot than traditional pools. They use fewer synthetic materials, are less labor intensive to build, and don’t require chemical treatments, reducing long term maintenance costs.
How We Design and Build Ponds
We specialize in designing ponds that look like they belong to the landscape. In Todd Place, that means working with natural terrain, using native plants, and choosing stone that blends with the surroundings. Each pond is carefully built to be both functional and visually appealing.
Included in every build:
- Strong and flexible PondGuard Aquascape rubber liner
- Real boulders and plants for a natural shoreline
- Gravel or flagstone base options
- Internal filtration systems designed to stay out of view
Do I need fish in my Swim Pond?
While not required, fish help maintain a healthy ecosystem. They eat algae and support the pond’s balance. Even a small group of mosquito fish can make a big difference in water quality.
